What We Believe
o God is love.
1 John 4:8 (KJV) 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
o We should love God with our whole being. Loving nothing else more then God and him alone.
Matthew 22:37 (KJV) 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
o Through our relationship with God we have His love and that love works in us to love our neighbors.
Matthew 22:39 (KJV) 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
o We must confess and believe in Jesus Christ.
John 1:12 - 13 (KJV) 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
o There is a universal call to repent. Repent is to change our thinking and actions. John the Baptist, Jesus and Peter (to name a few) all preached repentance. We must preach the same.
Matthew 3:2 (KJV) 2And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 4:17 (KJV) 17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Acts 3:19 (KJV) 19Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
o We are commanded to go baptize and make disciples. Everyone who believes should be baptized.
Mark 16:16 (KJV) 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 2:41 (KJV) 41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Acts 8:12 (KJV) 12But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Acts 19:3 - 5 (KJV) 3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. 4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
o We believe in being filled with the Holy Ghost and fire. Being lead of the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18 (KJV) 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
o Giving out of a willing, cheerful heart is a vital part of walking with God. Giving is not limited to monetary or materialism. Giving love, encouragement, help and many others ways of manifesting the Love of God in you.
2 Corinthians 9:6 - 7 (KJV) 6But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
o The Church is to be united. For the flowing of God’s Spirit flows through a church that is one.
Acts 2:1 - 4 (KJV) 1And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
o For this matter we see gossip, divisive spirits, murmuring, busy body in other man’s business and rebellion as sin that should be avoided and repented of.
2 Corinthians 12:20 - 21 (KJV) 20For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: 21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
Another translation says:
2 Corinthians 12:20 - 21 (GWT) 20I’m afraid that I may come and find you different from what I want you to be, and that you may find me different from what you want me to be. I’m afraid that there may be rivalry, jealousy, hot tempers, selfish ambition, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorderly conduct. 21I’m afraid that when I come to you again, my God may humble me. I may have to grieve over many who formerly led sinful lives and have not changed the way they think and act about the perversion, sexual sins, and promiscuity in which they have been involved.
1 Peter 4:15 (KJV) 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
2 Thessalonians 3:11 - 13 (KJV) 11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 13But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
