Pastor Clifton Turner

In February of 2010, after 20 years as student pastor of Livingway Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles, LA where he was born and raised, Clifton Turner became the pastor of Life Church when he handed the student pastoral responsibility to Will Hall. Rev. Turner began preaching in his youth soon after coming to God as a young man. God raised him from humble beginnings to spark and to fuel the fires of revival among youth and adults alike.

His experiences include being raised by his mother, Lena Turner, and grandmother, Lydia Fuselier, graduated high school, waited tables, sold life insurance, worked industrial construction and security. He met Carla Denby in high school. They married on June 24, 1989. They have one son, Brandon, who graduated from high school May 2008. Pastor Turner served four years on the Louisiana Youth Committee and five years as director of the Pentecostal Student Center, a campus ministry of Livingway Pentecostal Church.

Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Pastor Turner's vision for Life Church is to be a lighthouse for all in need to see; to become a church as described in the book of Acts, that works in demonstration and power of the Holy Ghost; to care for the poor, to help those that hurt. Pastor Turner is confident that this vision is possible by allowing the power of the Holy Ghost to work through him to raise up an army of men and women who live, move, and breathe the power of the Holy Ghost.

Today, Pastor Turner takes up this vision as he directs Life Church to become a Book of Acts church which demonstrates the power of the Holy Ghost. He wants Life Church to be a church set on a hill, a light to the world so that all can see God’s glory.

He is known as a passionate communicator and firmly believes it is the mission of the church to seek and save the lost. He wants to be known as a man who helps people pick up the pieces of their lives and rebuild.
